Organic Oolong Tea
Oolong (English) or Wu Long (Chinese pinyin translation) tea is a partially oxidized tea and has flavor characteristics of both green and black teas. The fresh leaves are withered for one to two days and the leaves are then rolled to release enzymes (needed for the next step). Then the tea leaves are allowed to oxidize, although for a shorter period than for black tea, and the process is stopped before it is completed. The tea is fired (heated) to prevent further oxidation and to dry the tea.
This tea is also enjoyable by the cup or in your teapot.

When I began making Kombucha, I told my Naturopath I was using black or green tea for brewing Kombucha. He suggested I try Oolong Tea as it tastes like black & green tea. It would be the best of both worlds! I have used many Oolong Teas over the years which I liked. I LIKED but Se Chung Special Oolong Tea I LOVE! I currently have 2 brews going- Se Chung Special Oolong and Se Chung with Yerba Mate tistane. I have found by reducing the amount of Yerba Mate it brews with Camelllia sinensis teas. I put a stick of cinnamon in a bottle of my last brewed KT (Se Chung & White Peony) then let it sit in the refrigerator for a few days. It was delicate, delicious and breathtaking! Prepared any way Se Chung Special Oolong is the Oolong to LOVE!!

I’ve tired several different teas for my Kombucha. Some from KK and some from other places. I must say this oolong is my favorite of all. To me it makes a smooth Kombucha with an excellent flavor. I love it! I also have to say the customer service at KK is wonderful. I had an issue with my last order and it was taken care of quickly and professionally and in a very friendly way. Really delicious! I really love the strong (bold) flavor. It’s a great tea to have with eggs and toast, too! Yummy! I will definitely order this again! Highly recommend. I get about two brews from each pot I make. I also like to mix this with other teas I have to create my own "special blend." 🙂
