This is a great barrel. It makes a good quality, fizzy kombucha. We liked it so much we bought a second one!
DONALD RICHARDS –
I am so pleased with the toasted oak barrel I received. I followed the directions for conditioning the barrel for 24 hours, then started the continuous brew. Just pulled the first batch of kombucha after second ferment with mango…delish! Hannah’s special blend is the best. The service is outstanding Hannah even called me back about a question I had. Huge thank you.

I am fairly new to kombucha, but soon got curious of continuous brewing so i went for this oak barrel. It is a lovely piece of craftsmanship, the look is impressive and it seals perfectly tight without any leaks. I am impressed with the detailed instructions that went with it and my kombucha/jun starter packs, helping me produce mild, pleasant brews from Kombucha Kamp’s own special blends. My second brew is now about to get ready and i cannot wait to flavor it! Will definitely be back for more supplies, i highly recommend it!

I am a new CB brewer and so happy I took the jump to go straight in. My sister told me about Kombucha Momma. Her web site is very easy to understand and from watching her videos I knew I could become a great brewer. I purchased the wooden vessel the 2.5 gallon and the kit that goes along with it. And then the ferment friend heater. All the directions are very clear and I am happily brewing since July 2017 and I am already considering purching a new 5 gallon brewer. I agree the wooden vessels give the best flavors.

I just finished a great batch in my oak continuous brewer! Using fruit pieces instead of fruit juice, and following tips from the guide, my brew was delicious and fizzy! Thank you Kombucha Mamma! I love your products!
Adam Brennen (Cypress TX) –
I purchased the oak barrel complete package with the self regulating heater and absolutely love it! I am a first time KT brewer, and the process could not be easier. I just set it and forget it. The oak barrel has such a nice masculine look, and it also provides a great flavor to the kombucha. The videos Hanna provides with the package have all the info you need to make your own brew.

My first batch took a few extra days, like 5-10 extra days cause i like it pretty sour, lol but the PH dropped and i have a new SCOBY in the hotel… The Kombucha tastes way way better than what i have been buying…I just bottled it today with the flavoring. I took out 16 cups and am making 16 cups more tea and gonna let it ride out another batch. But the Kombucha already tastes better than the store and the bottling step hasn’t even happened yet. I don’t think there is too much carbonation yet, but it kind of tastes like it is carbonated which sounds really weird, hard to explain, but i know that after 1-4 days it can only get better. Cant wait to taste it. Anyhow, thanks for the fantastic Kit you provided and all the info… I am so excited it turned out far past my expectations…

It’s a super-cute little barrel and it has been fun & easy to make the kombucha. I’m still playing with flavorings & carbonation, and probably will be for the next 5 years, but the kit made it very easy to get a handle on making basic kombucha. Good hobby.
Clint (Gillette, WY) –
The barrel is very well built and the kit is great.

I’ve been and on/off brewer for the past few years using the batch system. The one thing that kept me from drinking it everyday was the time commitment and work to get the bucha just right. I made a decision to drink kombcha daily after I was sick 3 times this past winter. That’s when I found Hanna’s site here and as I did more research, I knew I wanted an oak barrel. Getting setup and your first batch going is a breeze! I’m glad I picked up the complete package, as it had everything I needed and then some! I also picked up a dimmer heater system for when it gets cold here in central Oregon. I’ve had the system running now for a few months and my wife and I both love it! The brew, made with Hanna’s special blend, is better than anything I get in store in my opinion. And because it now makes about 1 gallon every 4 days (instead of 10-14 days with the batch system), I can do a lot of experimenting with flavors.
Don’t let the initial cost scare you away. If you drink it daily, it will pay for it self in 6 months(vs store bought). It is a delicious investment in your health, the gift that will keep on giving!
Thank you Hanna for the awesome site and great support!

I don’t know that I am doing this right but I am getting 8 16 ounce bottles every 5 days of really delicious komboucha out do my barrel. What I do is fill 8 flip top bottles with 1 oz organic juice, Hannah’s ginger and elderberries, and the rest komboucha
Then With space in my barrell I make a liter of tea using Hannah’s blend
In a liter jar
I mix 1/4 of the tea with 1/4 cup sugar, and top off the jar with cold filtered water.
I add the now cool tea to my barrell and repeat until I have replaced the quart and used my liter of tea and a full cup of sugar
The whole thing takes about 20 minutes and I always have really yummy komboucha around
Love the process and the barrel
Les V –
After a failed attempt making KT with a SCOBY we obtained from a friend, I purchased the Complete Toasted Oak Barrel package from Kombucha Kamp. A bit pricey for me, but it was worth it. Great tea mix and bags, SCOBY’s, concentrated starter solution. I think this package is pretty much dummy proof. We are on our 5 batch now. The only thing I could ask for is more! More of Hanna’s tea and the 5 Gallon Oak Barrel. Great product. Thanks!

I am writing to thank you for providing me with the wonderful knowledge to grow Kombucha and Water Kefir. A "bacteria powered" colon is critical for optimal health in the marketplace today. Your online website is easy to understand and provided all the necessary tools to generate a bacteria powered body. I was skeptical at first about the time required to grow my own Kombucha and Water Kefir, but after about a couple of months, I saved time and money compared to purchasing other drinks at the store. In addition, the fermented drinks, which historically have been known to settle or clean the stomach and small intestines, were "raw" or fresh rather than dried. Things were going so well, I actually had more Kombucha and Water Kefir than I needed!
If a customer needs to improve health, then ordering from Kombucha Kamp is an experience worth its weight in gold. My rating is 5 out of 5 stars!

Really lovely barrel
Debbie (Riesel, Texas) –
I love this kit! Not only is the barrel so darn adorable, but this kit makes brewing so simple and fun. At first I was a tad intimidated by the idea of brewing but with the help of the videos, manual and enclosed instructions I felt like a PRO. This is the year I am taking better care of myself so it only made sense to add Kombucha to my daily routine and there is no better way than to have it on hand 24/7. So if you are considering get a kit…DO IT! And I recommend the hand made, made in USA Toasted Oak Barrel kit, because you can’t get more authentic than brewing something in a barrel!
Monica (Portland, OR) –
I love the kit I received. It has everything you need and more, to brew kombucha for the first time and on. The oak barrel is amazing. Very nice quality. My only concern is that there seemed to still be a leaky seam by day 5 of the sealing/curing process. My husband who is a professional wood worker assured me it would be fine and to go ahead and brew my first batch. He was right – it sealed with no further leaking. The set up videos and written instructions are very thorough. The only thing I have to say is I wish the instructions added more information specific to the oak barrel. All instructions speak specifically to the stoneware and porcelain brewers and nothing about the oak. It’s not hard to adjust/modify the instructions to use on the barrel, but it would be nice to have something specific to the barrel for reassurance. Also, be patient. The supplies reached me a couple of weeks before my brewer did. I was worried about the health of my SCOBY. I emailed customer service asking about my SCOBY and they quickly responded letting me know it was fine. I also emailed them a question about my barrel, once again, very helpful and emailed me additional instructions to help me.
I don’t know how brewing in the barrel contributes to the taste of the kombucha yet as I have 3 more days before I can taste my first batch, but I’m sure it will be good!
